The keel laying ceremony for Bering Yachts’ B60 CAT catamaran took place at the company's Antalya shipyard.
Known as a manufacturer of steel and aluminum exploration vessels of small and superyacht size, Bering Yachts is embarking on a multihull adventure. Responding to the ever-growing demand and drawing from the experience of making hydrofoil-supported catamarans under the Bering Marine brand, we have launched a multi-hull exploration line of vessels. Presented as a model to a wide audience at the 2024 Palm Beach International Boat Show, this first liveaboard transatlantic catamaran has been laid down at Bering Yachts Antalya shipyard.
The owners have welded a memorable coin into the keel, thus beginning a new era of Bering catamarans. Says Alexei Mikhailov, the founder of Bering Yachts: “Many people like the idea of a multihull, and we love it as well. Being made of aluminum and having two hulls, this boat will possess all the qualities Bering's vessels are known for exploration capabilities, space, and exceptional craftsmanship. You will feel the same safety, comfort, and quality of life aboard.”
B60 CAT is 18.9-meter long, has an 8.6-meter beam, and 62.8 tons of displacement. Her owners chose the modification with one large master bedroom, two guest staterooms, one crew cabin, and a closed flybridge among many variations available for this model. Powered by two Cummins engines, this boat will reach 12-13 knots of cruise speed with a maximum of 15 knots. Her range might exceed 3,000 nautical miles, and a 1.4-meter draft will allow B60 CAT to more easily navigate the Caribbeans, other coastal waters, and even some inner bodies of water.
B60 Cat’s main deck has a multifunctional 50-square-meter interior area. It includes a lounge with a high/low table, a generously equipped galley with a bar, and a large dining table. A spacious 27.7-square-meter boat deck can serve as storage for a tender boat or for water toys. A flybridge deck serves as a classical relaxation area accessible through the open-air stairs, and a 10-square-meter swimming platform on the lower deck offers a great sea recreational option and can be lifted to extend the cockpit.
